Meet Our Trainer

For trainer Rebecca Buskirk, horses have been a part of everyday life since her childhood in Iowa. When her family moved to the St. Louis area to take over a 300-acre boarding facility, Rebecca developed a talent for fixing problem horses. By watching, learning, and asking questions from people she respected in the horse industry, Rebecca honed her skills while working with friends’ and boarders' horses. She gained experience with many different breeds and disciplines, training each horse independently with a passion to make them the best they could be. Her early days in the jumping and barrel racing worlds helped her become a true horsewoman who takes the time in her training process to deliver top results for both horse and rider.

In 1998, Rebecca joined Dez Rey Arabians as an assistant trainer and began working with Arabians and Half Arabians. She quickly discovered a love for the breed and has been training, breeding and showing them ever since. Since taking over as head trainer at Dez Rey, Rebecca and her clients, many of whom have been with her for more than a decade, have won numerous titles in English, Hunt Seat, Show Hack, Halter, Native Costume, Sport Horse, and Dressage at US Arabian and Half Arabian Nationals, US Youth Nationals, and Sport Horse Nationals, along with too many Regional Championships and Reserve Championships to count! Rebecca is passionate about sharing her knowledge of horses and consistently expands her expertise with new techniques to enhance her training program for continued success.
